I played a few games here and there before this jewel, but Roger Wilco: Space Quest 4 was the first game I really got into on the computer.

Now that we have people listing their old systems I feel obliged to list mine. Computers I still have are marked in bold (may not be the original computer, but the brand/model matches).

When the computers I used were my father's (he used to buy old and probably broken stuff, fix it and sell it, that's why the list may seem unordered), before 1990:
Commodore VIC-20, Sinclair ZX-81, Sinclair Spectrum 16, Salora Manager, Atari 800 XL, Sinclair Spectrum 48

Computers I bought (concidered workstations), after 1990:
Spectravideo SVI-728 (MSX), Commodore 64, Commodore 128, Commodore Amiga 500, Commodore Amiga 1200 (EC030/40+882 MHz), AMD K6-2 450 MHz, AMD K7 1400 MHz, AMD K7 XP2700+, AMD64 3500+. (Plus heaps of old PC-hardware that are not worth listing.)

Computers I bought (home servers/routers), after 1998:
Intel 486DX/33 MHz (48 MB), Intel Pentium 133 MHz (96 MB), Intel Celeron 333 MHz (384 MB).

Computers with very little time to play with, 1990 - 1998:
Atari 1040 STFM, Sharp MZ-821, Microprofessor ][, Salora Fellow, Intel 486/DX33 (1 MB (sic!)).

Atari 2600 when I was 5 (1980) ,I believe it came with Combat but I ended up with quite a large collection of Atari games,my first PC was a Texas Instruments TI 99 / 4A (around 1982) which had a lot of good games on cartridge ,also had fun programming it with Extended Basic.

BTW that game was awesome (starflight). One of the best EVER. I could still have fun with that game if I bothered to install it.

First home console experience was on my friend's Atari 2600 around 1990.

First hands-on PC game experience: Doom (shareware) sometime in 1994. Obssesed for life, I load up jDoom and Doom 64 TC to this day

.

I played "Combat" on an Atari 2600 when i was 9 in 1979.
my favorite mode was the tank maze battle where the bullets would ricochete off the walls.
