They are bumpmapped if your TV supports that feature. You can check it by increasing contrast or saturation and by adjusting the channel a bit off. That should give you a nice shad-- erm, bumpmapping. :-)

First computer game, 1982, Timex Sinclair 1000 (ZX81), Pinball, used ascii graphics, was great to play.

First console game - 1980 (somewhere around there), Atari 2600, was an adventure game, can't remember the name now, craptastic 2600 graphics, was great to play.

I had so many games for my Commodore 64 that I can't remember what the very first one I played was. That and I was only 5 at the time.

The Apple ][ was my first computer.
Choplifter, SPace eggs, Mission Asteroid..my first disks.
Some of the games were on cassette tape. Even played chess "online" over a modem before there was an internet.

1987. I was 7 and learning to program in Logo (and later Basic) on a BBC Microcomputer, and occasionally played a few games when our instructor felt generous... Moon Raider, Zaxxon and Bat n' Ball come to mind... I remember we had to insert a floppy and type "*." to see a listing of all games, and only a few machines in our lab had floppy drives.

Ok, I'm an old fart and have been hooked on electronic gaming since the mid to late 70s when I started dropping quarters in Space Invaders and Sea Wolf. The first home system we got was a hand-me-down Magnavox Odyssey system where you had to stick plastic overlays on the TV screen. Graphics consisted of a giant block moving around! We had some kind of Atari console with Pong and hockey. My friends had Atari 2600 and Intellivision when they came out. We spent countless hours playing Sea Battle and Football on Intellivision. I bought my own Intellivision (with voice module- B-17 Bommmmbers) in 1982. My first PC was an Apple IIe in 1984, eventually replaced by a C64. My first IBM compatible was a 386SX-25 clone back in '91 I believe. My first real PC games were Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and Lemmings..
