..really, the bechmark\testing utility lets you see exactally how the game will play and look with whatever setting choses you make. I played with a ton, imo 1024x768 full on looked the best, frame rates were consistant and smooth. 1280x960 looked no different, but ran slower...1600x1200 required too much of an eye candy compromise.
You soon see, it's cake to get the game running and looking the way you'd like.

Personally I think it's a move in the right direction. I'm tired of games with graphics that look like they just got out of a sheen-o-matic. I loved HL2's art style. It was detailed and nice looking, without all the texturing that made the entire world look like it was drenched in water 24/7. A certain level of that is good on the right surfaces (floors mainly), but when EVERYTHING is overtly reflective of light it just looks bad IMO. FEAR seems to be taking the same direction. Kudos to them.

Textures look like they could use more detail (not reflection) and look at the gun skin and the arm skin .. looks like sh!t IMO.

I don't have my new RAM yet so I can't even play it if I had it. Maybe I'll try to call my local EB Games and see if they will give it to me on Monday. I can't wait to play!!!!

Like I said before, I'm working all week-end, but if I get a chance I'll try and grab some better screenies.....That show how wrong you are about the textures because, in the game if the textures got any more detailed....you'd be walking up real stairs, holding a real gun
