While we are at it,
What settings would you reccomend for the follwoing system:
A64 +3000, 6800GT@ 400/1080, 1GB DDR?

I'm playing at 1024x768 all setting on max except volumentric lighte and texture res at medium, 2AA/4AF - SS off.
the game doesn't run very smooth, in many action sequences it slows to teh lower 20's and it doesn't look that good either, textures look funny.

Do I have to have 512MB of video RAM for maximum size textures?

Either that or 2GB's of ram. The game is a massive texture memory hog

yer thatssit, i can never remember the exact name

some games like BF42 need it on in order for eax to work and get yer surround to work fully with it. Other games ignore it, but perhaps this one really dislikes it.

I'd recommend making sure that "soft shadows" are off...you will get a much better frame rate.

I went everywhere trying to snag a copy today.

I went back to Walmart, and they were gone. I went to Target, Bestbuy, CompUSA, EBgames, Gamestop and then a different Target, and then a different CompUSA/GoodGuys.

Hate to say it jAkUp, but this game is freaking amazing!!!

To the others that own it already, have you gotten to the office part yet?

Has anyone managed to record any video from FEAR with Fraps? I can take screenshots with it but hitting the record button does nothing, I've tried re-assigning it to other keys too with no luck.

Edit: NM I was being retarded.

Awesome game, there is a lot of replay value here, the AI is particularly impressive. Similar in AI quality to Swat4 actually, if not better.
