Great game, tho it runs crappy on my 6800GT (b/w 20-40fps usually =\). 1024x768, most on max, volumetric lighting and texture detail on med (max gives me stutering). Ingame benchie:

Min: 36fps
Avrg: 64fps
Max: 132fps

AI is incredible. Rest of the game I dont care much for tho so far. Peace,

In an interview with German magazine PC Games senior producer Craig Hubbard revealed that Monolith is, or will be, working on an addon for its FPS F.E.A.R. While no additional details were provided Craig did admit, saying "for sure," wether the ending of the game was intentionally left open for a possible addon. The complete interview is featured in the PC Games November issue.

Ran into some weird bugs earlier... I saved when I just started a new level and left (was playing for quite some time and needed to take a break :\) and just a while ago when I tried to go back when I loaded the map it would get done... but then go to the main menu and say "Disconnected from Server" or something :\. Also sometimes when loading a map it will crash to desktop. Other than that though, haven't had many issues.... just hope they fix these current ones which can be slightly annoying :\.

I just picked up my copy...

But I wont have my 6800GT back until the 28th! Part of me wants to play it on the 5500FX, while the part with sense tells me to wait and play it the way its meant to be played.

Well as best as it can be played on my aging rig.

Nice video what did you use to record it?
I believe it's related to the volumetric lighting..

ps, the patch might adress this problem

Something is up, when i set them volumetric lighting down to medium, and run the bench I actually get lower performance than when its set to maximum/high.

Why is that? Oddly enough setting it to low, did stop the hard locks for me.
Now i'm going to try the 81.84s

Finally got some time with the game//
FEAR is a seriously good FPSer.....this game is tension personified, not scary foolish tension but, ture adrenaline squiting, sweating in your chair, what the hell will I have to face next tension...
The graphics and sound are completely gripping, the draw you in and keep you on seat's edge.

btw: I'm running 81.84's, I have noticed x3 the "hardlock" bug/// Its not a ture hardlock(on my system), if I wait a minute or two I get mouse control back and the game plays on normally.....maybe tomorows patch will address this.

Yeah I had that issue earlier too... but then I just started to quit out of the game for about 5 minutes after each level and didn't run into the problem again...

Just got done beating the game and I think this is the game of the year so far... the ending is quite good and makes you want more.

I installed the 81.84 drivers and man was it an increase in performance compared to 78.05s!
But i'm still getting the hardlock bug, I hope the patch they release tomorrow will address this.

Settings:

Physics: Maximum
Effects: Everything at Maximum except - Volumetric Lighting: Medium
Graphics: Everything at Maximum except - Soft Shadowing, Pixel Doubling and DX8 Shaders off.

Well, I'm running a Dell 2005 FPW and here is what I have.

WITH FSAA AT 2x (IMO Not really needed too badly at this resolution.)

Minimum: 17
Average: 29
Maximum: 58

42% Below 25 FPS
42% Between 25 and 40 FPS
16% Above 40 FPS

WITHOUT FSAA

Minimum: 24
Average: 38
Maximum: 74

1% Below 25 FPS
68% Between 25 and 40 FPS
31% Above 40 FPS

Edit: 78.01 Forceware (I ran 81.84s but they were kinda buggy in some stuff so I'm waiting for an official.)
