Havent been reading up on it much have ya? As of right now the X360 version has performance problems and a very low draw distance compaired to the PC version. At least thats what everyones saying... obviously there isnt any proof since it isnt available yet (and niether is the x360) but its deffinitely not something id ignore.

The only thing I keep reading about the 360 version of Oblivion in this forum is from a bunch of PC diehards that don't wan't their precious PC version beaten out by a $300-$400 console.

Donīt forget the $1000 (at least) for a HDTV and the console isnīt that cost effective anymore. Also I didnīt spend $2000 on my PC, CPU+Mobo $250, Ram $130, GFX $250, HD $50 = $680. Itīs not a high-end PC but I can still play all current games at my prefered settings and I have lots of fun with them and I can do tons of other things with my PC.

I donīt hate consoles, but I definitly prefer PC. Iīm looking forward to see the new Xbox in person, and I have to admit that the hypemachine did partly succeed because right now Iīm interested in buying one IF it really delivers what the hypemachine wants to make us believe. However, I donīt trust it unless I experience it myself and enjoy a game at least as much as on PC.

Back to topic, did anyone else notice that the russian site removed the "ugly" pictures? Seems like Beth. gave them fire under their asses. lol

Yeah they removed all of the new ones... and as much as I like seeing more of the game, I guess thats a good thing considering they were unofficial and sorta crappy looking

I cant see the 360 version running slower and not looking as good. It pretty much is comparible to a high end gaming rig at the moment. Normally consoles games better then PC's. Im pretty confident they will have the game running better then it does on a PC, and looking just as good, if not nearly as good. Remember they arent forcing AA and AF and extreem resolutions. IF a PC user ran their game at 800x600, No AA and no AF it would run better then the console version, because thats what the console pretty much runs it at, xbox maybe a higher res. Now if you output that to a TV it will look just fine, you will only notice the lack of AA and AF on a monitor, but not a TV. But dont expect to be able to crank you settings, 4xAA 16xAF Max details, 1600x1200 and get 30+fps all over the oblivion world, i wouldent expect to even be able to do that.

See, I would think this too, but I remember playing Halo on the XBox and having it run like total crap, especially on some Slayer maps.

I dont tend to take performance for granted, especially with consoles. Generally, people arent as picky about framerates in console games... there are some games that I wouldnt even consider playable, yet everyone else loved them.

Im not a game developer, I cant explain it, maybe its an optimization thing... a lot of console games just run like crap and you cant turn any settings down to fix it.

A $300-$400 console won't beat out a brand new $2000 computer built at the same time.

I'm pretty sure that the 360 already has some stuff running on it that no PC could, regardless of how much it costs. Namely PGR3 and GoW.

I'm sorry Slick - I'd usually defend you a little, but it's bollocks that no PC would run Gears of War. My understanding is that any Unreal Engine 3 based game will run well on a current high end machine. Isn't it the case that it actually was running on a PC at E3 (when Epic were showing it off)? I can't remember, and can't be bothered trying to track down where I saw that.

Project Gotham Racing 3 I've no idea about, but there's little doubt in my mind that if you actually wrote with an AMD X2 with a 7800GTX in mind, you could probably do something similar.

Ridiculous DOES not have an 'e' in it. It comes from "ridicule" and has less than nothing to do with the colour red.
