I've always held off on loading Logitech's software. In the past it's been more trouble for me than it was worth. Loading it usually caused buttons to quit working in certain games and I didn't feel like I should have to play around with it to get things going again.

I've never had any problems with any laser sensor based mice (all of them: Logitech, Razer, etc, use Agilent Technologies' sensors). Maybe your drivers were the problem or something on your system (hardware or software) was conflicting somehow. Did you check your Device Manager for any potential conflicts?

Sounds like a classic case of "I don't know how to check the mouse acceleration settings so it is the mouse's fault." Maybe he should check his game settings as well before making crazy accusations about ALL laser mice?

Just a tought.

I love my Copperhead.

If there were a number of others here with your same complaints then I might understand where you're coming from. There's no reason to kill/close this thread.

I almost purchased one today... Your review made me almost get it but I still love the over all design of the Logitech series. I might still pick it up and just exchange it if I can't get use to the layout and feel.

It's for these reasons that I don't forsee myself getting rid of my MX510 any time soon. I love my fUNC 1030 surface, and Mouseware 9.80 has worked flawlessly in each and every single game I've tried. I hate SetPoint with a passion, it's a buggy and bloated piece of garbage.

No, I don't think we'll be doing that. I suggest ceasing viewing/posting here since you seem to be getting your undies all in a bunch.

Hmm...they did get rid of the forward button. I was thinking about buying one of those G5 mice, but not if it doesn't have the forward button. Why in the hell would they get rid of that?

found this review on new egg about your G5.. its not the only bad review

After purchasing this mouse and finding out that it does not play nicely with either my desk top, my XTrack Pro HS mouse pad, nor my Black Icemat, I called Logitech. According to their customer support person named Jerry, this mouse WILL NOT work with any mousemat that is glass, WILL work poorly with any black mousemat, WILL work poorly with any mousemat that is remotely reflective, and it ONLY WILL WORK PERFECTLY on a sheet of white paper taped to your desk. Congrats Logitech, you really have outdone yourselves on this one. But it tracks great on a sheet of paper.....

Razer released official firmware update (6.16b, if I am not mistaken) for the copperhead to resolve the "negative acceleration" bug. If you can work with Razer mice's unusual shape, by all means...

At least one thing will rectify the day. My special DVD edition Q4 box is confirmed to arrive at my doorstep in 30 minutes.

I THINK THIS BOARD (NVNEWS) BASHES PEOPLE TO MUCH... damn if the man does not like the mouse and had a bad time with it who cares.

I have noticed so many comments are bashed on this board and its kind of annoying.. I know I know bash me after I write this comment. But I am just stating my opinion.
