Default Request for comments on...

I know this post is going to look a little deceptive, and if the Mods would rather that this thread is purely for posts on experiences, I'd totally be happy for them to delete it. That said, I was wondering if I could make a couple requests of those who do get the game first - Basically I'd like to know a couple things, or your thoughts about them, being that I have to wait until Friday until it's released in my slightly small country:

1. Do Gladiators make a proud return? I've not seen any in screenshots, but I'm hoping they'll actually be in the game (they were my favourite enemy... y'know... the big guys with Robot Legs, a massive knife and a Railgun who made that crazy cry and then charged.)
2. What's the soundtrack like? I've not yet seen much about the music present in the game. Is it orchestral? Rock-y like in Q2? Etc...
3. Does it feel like Quake 2 at all? Or totally different? Obviously the squad dynamic is going to change the gameplay, but does it have that awesome Quake 2 "feel"?

Cheers in advance to any who answer!

EDIT: 1 Additional question for anyone who views this later and gets the game early - Can you still change your character's handedness? It was always nice for us lefties to be able to put the gun on the left. Y'know... just kinda cool.

Ridiculous DOES not have an 'e' in it. It comes from "ridicule" and has less than nothing to do with the colour red.

My initial thoughts after playing it for only a half hour or so.........
Graphically is excellent, sound track is great, rock style.

Never played Q2 so can't compare, but my best desciption so far
would be a fast, frantic paced Doom3 with squad mates (in fact some of the indoor levels you'd think you were playing Doom3)
Nevertheless, I'm enjoying it very much.

A teaser for you...........

How about some timedemo scores along with system specs? Perhaps worth a thread of it's own?

A couple more........P4 3.2 - 6800GT - 4xAA - 1280x1024 - High setting
Definitely runs smoother than F.E.A.R.

The official release date here in Australia is 19th October but a couple of stores were selling it a day early, hence how I got my copy today.

Played multiplayer for a short while and it's almost exactly the same as Q3, fast and furious. (although not quite as frantic as the best multi of all time, UT)

Ok, i feel the vains in my forehead throbbing blood through it as i read quake 4 mp will have only 9 maps?? 9 maps... niiiiiine maps... God, im gonna hate the single player campain because of this. Lol, just kidding, but 9 maps arnt much at all and will get boring very fast... usually 2 or 3 maps will be crapp.. so that will leave 6 kewl maps... yay... ID should have made quake 4..

Since the quake community always has have a hard time setting up custom maps servers...(Doom 3 has a few with like 3 custums maps that arnt impressive.. same goes for quake 3 dm, not counting full mod servers that are always empty..) so i can see the Quake 4 mp communtity will be very short lived.

Dont get me wrong i loved quake 3, but this game seems to be a downgrade except for the graphics. Ill still be picking it up nontheless.. hehe.
