Default Re: Some trouble with Q4

OK, look around, there are tons of people having issues with...the game dropping back to desktop at the end of an MP game or SP level with NO error code, or when hitting the ESCAPE key it can do the same thing....it is related to having to have the CD in the drive to play. If you use a special "patch" to rid yourself of having to have the cd in the drive, then the issue goes away completely. Problem is then, since the "patch" is crappy, it can cause a crash of the game with an error code. Not acceptable. Come on, this is ****in' ruining the game for me since EVERY single time a level ends, the game drops back to desktop with no warning, and you have to RELAUNCH the game....not real good in online team games....

Some think it may have to do with SP2, I don't know, I do have SP2 installed. Any ideas? Does not Activision test properly? Pretty ****ty to have such a huge glaring bug on a game that has been in testing for so long....

I would say you are! There are so many combinations of software and what not....but come on, most rigs are kind of "normal". It's the lame "cd must be in the drive to play" BS that is jacking things up....
