you wished but it utter IMPOSSIBLE to run 3D games and benchmarks at 1GHz core, it caused Windows XP unstable and Sampsa managed to achieved 1GHz in 2D desktop, huh that not much to say and not exactly impressive. Sampsa said the X1800 XT's 3D reached the limit at 860MHz core but couldnt run 900MHz core due to Windows very strange behaviours caused 3D Mark 05 to crashed everytime he tried to ran it. 860MHz core is the same clock someone been achieved with 7800 GTX months ago scored much the same 3D Mark 05 scores as X1800 XT at 860MHz.Face the facts, nobody ever able to run X1800 XT's 3D at 1GHz core.

I want to know is, if these cards are so easily overclock-able why did ATI clock them so slow? You would think they would have pushed them to really kick NV's butt.
I have to ask, will the retail cards clock like this?
