I'd say it's probably pretty safe to assume that, yes, they will.

they have said ALL future releases will feature HDR now - so yes is the answer.

Ditto. The new skin does make a nice change.

My rig may not of met the recommended specs, but it played the level perfectly Some nice effects in there.

What really grinds my gears is I bought my FX5700 to be DX9 featured and Lost Coast is saying it isnt. I guess the whole "yer those cards are DX9 but there not" is true.

I think that card is DX9 but it doesn't support a few things that HL2 expects for Loast. (e.g. HDR, SM2, etc) Or something along those lines anways, I don't know the specifics of all of those graphics features.

Its just one short map but i liked it. The HDR effects added that much more to a great 3D engine.

I finally got to try it yesterday and the graphics are very impressive. I forgot to check what kind of framerates I was getting but it seemed to run pretty well.

That isn't a cane, its a harpoon. You're supposed to harpoon with it

I'd be much more impressed with the HDR if it would actually work with already existing content instead of having to convert everything to it in order to use it. Putting a single effect into a 7-minute map is hardly as worthy of praise as implimenting it into a full game that wasn't even made for it, imo.

this is impossible. Because its a completely different lighting engine. You have to go back and redo each level to make sure your atmosphere isn't ruined.

Well, to be more specific, you have to define the light reflectivity of each individual texture (with a mask.)

Unfortunately these textures are gigantic for even lower resolutions (they are 64-bit per pixel.)

The FX5700 does support DX9 shaders, however the entire FX line was terrible at getting a decent FPS when using the saders (FP32) So sadly, it looks like they just disabled it completely.
