One of my forum members tried and here is what he said:
Yes, it does work. I got approximately a 20% boost to DX9. Still not quite smooth enough for MP action for me (28-38fps), so I decided to check if it helped my DX7 performance also and WOW! it did. I'm running an AMD64 3200 Newcastle OC' to 2400Mhz with 1 Gig Geil DDR 500 and Leadtek 6600GT. AT 1024x768 res in DX7 mode I went from 70-100 fps before the fix to 125-350fps after the fix

It works, I tested it and found two of the tweaks to really help people with lower end cards. The other tweaks really don't help too much. These two helped the most.

seta r_aaAlpha "0"
seta r_multigpu "1"

Also for your question Burnt, it runes fine at low reolutions, but to actually see people long distance off on lcd and some crt monitors we have to run at 1024x768.

avg. fps in smoke-12
avg. fps in smoke with tweak-18
avg. fps- 32
avg fps with tweak-38

This has really helped me alot. Thanks for finidng all of this out man.

Default Re: Call of Duty 2 DX9 performance fixes

i'd like to try some of these

i average 70fps in dx9 but it locks at 91
if i play in dx7 i'm locked at 91 constantly
in the demo i was getting 107-242 in dx7
and 40-60 in dx9

i can't seem to unlock the fps meter
even if i manually enter a value in the console
i edited my mp config file to 250 but it still
stays at 91

now i certainly can't complain about DX9 fps
as it seems i'm getting alot more than other ppl
i'm playing at 1024 x 768 16bit,textures on high
everything else normal,no AA/AF.....still looks killer

Has anyone noticed that in all the image comparison shots of before and after that the after is very slightly brighter? Not that it really matters much but it does seem to have a very 'slight' visual difference.

Yup you can just enable "optimise for SLI" to get the r_multigpu = 1. I found it out after making the configs, edited the original post just after i made it, it's there.

The picmip tweak makes an equally good improvement for me, it's a little harder to use though. If , and / toggle the fps meter, pressing . should give you a ~1sec pause to show the picmip tweak is applied. No pause = not applying = check the install instructions again.

thanks for the tweak man, nice work !!
I dont know if any of ya experienced this but i made a new post of something i found out. I noticed that the game runs faster when AA is on, especially 4xAA. I am not *****ting you lol, this is honestly what i have come across.
Textures at high, dynamic light normal, 1024x768 (tried all AA off, 2x and 4x), Anistrophic on. I dont have fraps on but i can feel the difference, it is very noticible, ide say about a +5fps boost minimum per AA setting. so 4xAA is approx 8-10FPS faster then NO AA at 1024x768 which is very odd.

Do you notice the same effect when you force the different AA levels thru the CP?
