I need to install my RAID motherboard with the nforce chipset on it. I want it in RAID 1 but if i don't install the RPM nforce package i can't not use the IDE controller in RAID. So i need to know where i can find the boot disk can solve this problem. I need to install RedHat 7.2 or 7.3 and i need to activate the RAID 1 before the installation. Please help me MatLogik |

The nforce rpm package only contains a sound driver (sound driver is in most modern distro's too: i810 audio driver). Next to a sound driver there's a network driver in the package but no ide drivers at all.
Perhaps raid works using the default stuff or else you are stuck. That happens when you buy a horrible nvidia mobo with about everything closed source. Intel, Amd, Via, Ali and Sis all provide the needed specs to create opensource drivers for the stuff on their motherboards. |
