I love it, I can max it out at 1280x1024. I also get around 50 FPS. Game looks amazing too! Maybe I just like PC's better, but this looks better then PGR3.

anyone else find it annoying that you cant set the brightness in the game itself and instead have to adjust the monitor so that it's set correctly so you can see the two EA logos in the setup?

I got to say, this game kicks ass. It actually feels like your in the car . the only thing I dont like is that theres barely any damage done to the car, but other than that the game rocks. Oh btw, does anyone know how to make it run on my widescreen monitor?? (1680x1050).

I have the correct brightness from the first start of the demo (DVI LCD). Do you have a DVI LCD/CRT or an analoge one?

I did notice a problem though. The demo freezes for maybe half a second when a new radio chatter line is about to get played, and that is during the roadblock challenge mode. I assume the sound cache in the demo is too small, but it might have something to do that I have just 1GB Ram. Actually I just checked, the demo is using only 390MB during the roadbloack challenge, plenty of unused memory left.

Yes the radio chatter was really good! They actually stumble over words sometimes and stuff.. really cool I'm definetely getting this at launch.

wow, i love this game already. It's pretty fun. And the graphics are pretty amazing too, for a racing game anyways. Running it maxed settings 1280x1024 4xAA/8xAF, never drops below 35fps. I love the destructible stuff too. The first time I hit a logging truck, I was amazed. The logs fell off!!! And I got stuck between them. It was pretty sweet.

Hmm, I didn't have to change any brightness settings. Maybe it's because I'm using DVI? I don't know. It was fine for me.

Hmm, I'm not having that problem. Runs nice and smoothly for me with no pauses at all. What are your system specs?

Running from the cops was pretty darn fun. I liked how you were "alone" for a small period of time during the "cooldown" but then outta nowhere a cop would show up saying "I got a visual" or "I got em!". AWESOME.

Therefore NFS:MW will only perform optimally when frames per second hit 60 or 120 (or 180, 240 etc.) using active vsync - and the game will tend to be a bit jerky and "out of sync" especially when hitting in the 50'ies (which greatly hurts immersion - especially if someone remembers the great arcade games from SEGA that always performed at 60 FPS/Hz). So 40 FPS really feels like in the low 20'ies in this game. I have tested this over and over using FRAPS, so when people in this thread refer to NFS:MW being playable using "X" settings and "Y" resolution, then I would read such a bold statement as if these persons are getting at least 60 FPS or 120 FPS (which they probably are not at maxed settings in resolutions beyond 1024x768 unless powerful SLI or Crossfire setups are being used).

So my 5 cents would be to be careful with subjective estimations - telling someone that NFS:MW is awesome on your system may not provide other people with relevant information unless you provide extensive data and objective measurement on your performance.
Okay, I don't know if this is exactly what you're talking about, but here's what I have experienced personally but couldn't really explain, I thought I was hallucinating. In NFSMW and in some previous NFS games, I've noticed that at some places the gameplay undergoes a weird kind of jerkiness. It is not the typical low-frames-per-second jerkiness you get in shooters, it feels kind of -- elastic (that's the best word I could come up with) -- the controls feel really weird. And it's not just because of the fast movement in racing games; I don't recally a specific example, but I have played other driving games at low FPS's, and that felt similar to the traditional jerkiness. This phenomenon is very different -- the controls feel "out of sync" with the visual update, which is why I thought you might be talking about the same thing. Somehow the word "elastic" seems appropriate.

Since the demo is only in stereo I guess it's time for all of us with X-fi:s to really justify our spending. Just try entertainment mode with Cmss Stereo Xpand at 100% (all the way to the back in other words) and the Theater Eax setting at -6db and the game sounds a million times better. At least on my Logitech z-5500 system.
