Online is really laggy. Does anyone know if EA host the servers because its awfully laggy?

I totally agree with you on this issue, the previous 2 NFSU games had the same issues too, I always thought it was my PC but it does it on the wifes as well. Its a little better with Vsync off but then you have to deal with the tearing

I get the blocky road textures that a bunch of people got back with the NFSU2, and I can't remember what causes it. Probably ganna be stuck downgrading my drivers... this sucks

IIRC, the blocky textures were caused because NFSU2 needed to be restarted for the graphics settings to be applied. Once you restart, it should be fine.

BTW, just noticed that Yahoo! Games is also hosting the demo, they are usually download manager friendly. (link)

I had a blast. I hate the import scene but this game as was NFSU is fun.

This game is really fun and looks and runs amazing, but its a buggy POS. Its crashed on me with C++ Debug errors TWICE in the middle of races. I have yet to actually exit the game because it just crashes.

Really god damn irritating... at least they made it fun though.

Yeah, I get slowdowns in most of the curves as well. Straight ahead is usually fine.

I have not seen it dip into the 20's yet.

Nah, this isn't that. I get the blocky textures everytime I play... I think it's drivers

Well its a sh!tty systen compared to yours, XP2700, 6800nu (unlocked 350/800), 1GB, SB Aud2 ZS, Windows 2Kpro (SP4 with all updates), 81.85, and SB drivers are from Sept 21st (newest).

I´ll play around with the settings, lowering the video settings, or switching to mono sounds or mess around with the DX sound acceleration, and see if the sound freezes can be reduced one way or the other.

I get anywhere from the mid 20s to the 50s just doing the quick races. I haven't tried any of the modes with the cops yet. Going through most of the turns in the quick race, especially if the cars are cutting through the median, it'll drop into the 20s. It doesn't seem to matter what resolution. I tried it at 1024x768 on up with similar framerates (mid-20s). I believe at 800x600, I was able to keep it above 30 at all times.
