YAY! Just got off of work. I got the black edition! Its installing now.

I was hoping the entire game would be on a DVD or 2, but its 4 CD's and an exclusive black edition DVD.

Do you really think that he needs to add anything to the "I put in 6 hours straight"? I think that says it all

Running 81.94 here, the problem happened with 81.85 as well, So far NFS:MW is the only game thats doing it ,When I was troubleshooting the problem I would load other games and they were fine including King Kong (demo). I did some searching and found this seems to be a random problem with dual core cpus , I read someone having the same problem with Painkiller and disabling one core fixed it for him as well.

Yea I love it.

The story is kinda interesting (well, for a racing game ), and it has FMV's! I wish there was something more to kinda push the story along in the middle of the game though, it feels a little dry, but thankfully the races are fun

I'm addicted to climbing up that most wanted ladder as high as I can. I already got the chopper after me!

Compared to the demo, its about what you expect... there is more cop chatter which is cool. On the first "cop level" they are easy to outrun, but after you get more and more wanted it starts getting pretty difficult to outrun them.

Install the X2 CPU driver and then the Microsoft dual-core hotfix. That'll fix the issue for most games. An alternative is to use a utility like runfirst that sets the affinity option before launching the game. While the cpu driver and microsoft hotfix worked for most games, I still have to use runfirst or manually set the affinity option for Painkiller. It seems to be the most problematic game I've got in regards to dual-core cpus.

Holy ****! I just reinstalled x64 and totally forgot about the CPU driver! Thank you OWA!!! I bet you thats why I'm getting the stuttering.

Does that Microsoft dual core fix work for x64 also? I used to run it with x32... but I'm not so sure with x64...

No, the ms hotfix is only for XP-32. Apparently, XP-64 already handles whatever issue the hotfix is addressing. Edit: Hope the cpu driver helps. Did you use it when you initially had xp-64 installed?
