Hi,
On a Dell Precision 470 and a 280NVS card, the presence of the NVIDIA driver causes a kernel panic on boot. Removing the driver allows the system to boot. Any ideas why this would be? I have asked Sun the same question and while they're investigating this on their end, they recommended that I ask the NVIDIA developers as well. This doesn't happen on Dell OptiPlex GX280, GX620 or other Pentium 4 based systems. This has only been observed with the Precision 470. This is mostly an FYI at this point as I can work around this issue by not using NVIDIA cards, but I presume the developers might want to know about this. Thanks! |

Please generate and attach a bug report log; if possible, it'd be of great help if you could obtain a call trace with kmdb.

I'm not familiar with kadb, unfortunately; to enable kmdb at boot-time in Solaris x64/x86 5.10, you can use `eeprom boot-args='-k'`.

if you boot solaris 10 with kadb, what you get is kmdb.
kadb(1M) DESCRIPTION kadb, an interactive kernel debugger, has been replaced by kmdb(1). For backwards compatibility, the methods used to load kadb will be interpreted as requests to load kmdb(1). |
