netllama,

Is there any update bout this development request? Is it still just scheduled, are you guys working on it, or will this be a thing for version '10424'++ ?

I know a whole lot of people are waiting for this and you will gain a lot of glad costumers when the drivers will be xen-aware....

This enhancement is assigned to development, however it has not been scheduled for a specific driver release.

Thanks,
Lonni

I would just like to post another "me to". I have been building my home workstation/server in order that I can experiment with the stuff I am using on my main server. I have come unstuck trying to build the Nvidia driver on my gentoo Xen-3 2.6.12.6-xen0 kernel

Grateful for any pointers on fixing this. However, really looking forward to getting this going.

Lonni:

I suppose Linux-on-Linux via Xen is the primary option, but what about Windows-on-Linux? Using Vanderpool virtualization, it is said that a Xen host can run *unmodified* guest OSs. The Intel Core Duo CPUs have this feature.

I *assume* this needs support in the Windows drivers, however. Can you please add this to the enhancement request? I'd be fine with a solution that forced me to run the same driver version on Windows and Linux, if it can only be made to work.

Thanks,

Mikael

AFAIK, it doesn't, but I'm not sure the hosted VMs will be able to see the nvidia hardware. Anyone have a recent Xeon w/ BIOS update to try this with? VMWare and Xen supposedly have support for VT/Pacifica already...

Yet another vote for Xen.
Having to use vesa just to use Xen on a development machine is a pain in the back side

Hi there !

I just downloaded the last release of nvidias driver for X86_64 (8756) for my two ASUS EN6600GT (Im NOT using SLI. Im using two video adapters because I need multi-seat). My motherboard is an A8N-SLI Deluxe. Im using FC5-64bits (kernel 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5xen0). When I tryied to install it, my computer reboot (!) immediately after installer had tryied to load the new driver in linux kernel. No error messages, nothing ! Just reboot ! When I tryied to install it on kernel 2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 (not XEN enabled kernel) everything works fine. Any ideas (I know that nvidia drivers are not suposed (yet) to work with xen kernels, but, any ideas to, at least, avoid the reboots) ? With computer rebooting in every try, I will not be able to even to proceed with tests.

TIA !
