Default W00t! Ultra Cooler on vanilla 6800

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814140067

Plus, it's an AGP... NV40... this one is *begging* for unlocking/OC'ing! Could actually be an Ultra (core-wise, at least), for all you know ... remember GTO2???

I wouldn't be sure big fat coolers guarantee a good overclock. I recently tried overclocking a 7800GTX (standard) which had a full size 512 style cooler (like the new Leadtek boards have). It didn't get past 470mhz without visible corruption. Pity, with all those pipes and big fan. I believe you need a good core as well as good cooling.

Seems to have potential.

The photos show the PCB is by Gainward.

You guys remember the eVGA 6800 Limited Edition? Could be similar in this case.

6800 LE were actually Ultras tho. These are still 128mb NUs with a bigger cooler. The Gainward 6800NU coolers were much better, copper heatsinks with 2 fans. I miss my gainward
