Hi
Xorg X11R7 RC2 is out, and more and more distros are updating to this new modular version, so it would be nice to have the installer pickup the new dir-structure. (/usr/X11R6/lib moved to /usr/lib/xorg) Nevertheless, installation of the stock drivers worked ok after shuffling around some libs on Fedora Rawhide. Maybe someone has already written a patch? Zander? cheers L

The next nvidia driver release will fully support X11R7.
Thanks, Lonni |

hmm...
8174 still does install a lot of things into /usr/X11R6. so this driver does *not* work with the modular x. this is with fedora and xorg-0.99.3-9. any fixed driver available nvidia? thanks L

This driver does work with a modular Xorg. Please try using the --x-module-path option.
For x86_64 you would use /usr/lib64/xorg/modules For x86, you would use /usr/lib/xorg/modules Thanks, Lonni |

libXvMCNVIDIA* files still get installed to /usr/X11R6/lib/
when using --x-module-path=/usr/lib/xorg/modules the other files are installed ok. cheers L

8174 (and 7xxx) drivers work fine with X.org 7.0 when using Gentoo Portage.

_tf_,
I've reproduced that problem and submitted bug 200665 for the issue. Thanks, Lonni |

Hi,
I've like always extracted the driver and installed it via an edited Makefile to the new path in /usr/lib and /usr/lib/xorg/modules. Works here with (RenderAccel off): X Window System Version 6.99.99.902 (7.0.0 RC 2) Marcus
