Linux and GeForce Go 7300

I've been planning on buying the new ASUS laptop (A6Km) with GeForce Go 7300 GPU. Any ideas if the current Linux drivers support this chip? It's not mentioned on the supported products list, but I was still hoping it would work.

And if it doesn't work then how about the next driver release... perhaps GeForce Go 7300 support will be added then? Does anyone have an inside scoop on this subject?

As has been mentioned many times before on the forum we dont know what is going to be included with the next driver release. There is a good chance that the 7300 will be included but who knows. Anyway I heard that the next version will be comming out after X.org 7.0, which comes out dec 7. You can wait till then and see if your laptop is supported or if you just get it the open source nv driver will probably work with no 3d accelearation(it will probably be fine for office stuff)

Well, they said the 7300 would have nvidia support by early 2006, but as far as feb 9th, there's nothing! absolutely nothing. not even a comment, a message, whatever. I have notebook with such a gpu for two months now and have to cope with daily graphical annoyances the nv driver doesn't handle. And yes, it was that very same notebook i bought.
Frustration...

windows get screwed, get sudden noisy images, stripped windows, pieces of frames from other things i used before, all sorts of wonders.
