I don't know where the problem is! I just downloaded and installed the newest kernel 2.6.14.3, got the nvidia amd64 1.0-7676 drivers (with _ALL_ patches) and i am using slamd64 10.2.
i got a new mainboard (ASUS A8V) with a new BIOS installed (0218), i got 512MB MB DDR RAM Kingston, and my new AOpen Aeolus GeForce 6200.
Plz help

Have you checked if the memory works correctly in the new mainboard (with an utility like memtest86+)?

I'm not seeing anything here that suggests that this is an nvidia driver bug. You have dd causing an Oops, then you have the ET installer triggering another Oops. If your RAM isn't faulty, perhaps something on your motherboard, or even the CPU is causing the problem?

Does this instability go away if you aren't using a pre-empt kernel?
Does all of this instability go away if you aren't using the 'nvidia' X driver?

Thanks,
Lonni
