Eamm, where's the patch?

It's not attached... or is it shipped with the driver?

The links for HTTP and FTP seem to point to the x86 version not x86-64.

ReadMe seems not to be text/html but application/octet-stream instead. In my case this means I cannot just go there or (simply) mirror the webpage and view it locally. Appears that only the main page has invalid content-type, http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...l/part-01.html is ok for instance.

heh apparently according to the supported cards list there are two 7800 GTX's support but no 7800 GT. I know the 7800 works(im using one) but is there any reason it isnt listed or was that just a typo? Anyway great job on the drivers guy! Keep it up!

Finally I got the new driver and the 1.0-8174 works perfectly well with my Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 nforce 430/GeForce 6100-based motherboard - thanks NVIDIA. Now just audio should be supported and my system is perfect

NVRM: Xid: 1, Channel 00000000 Method 00000000 Data 02000137

Thank you for NOT fixing the important issues, yes I am very glad that now you support the latest xxy8676FGxxyy cards from out of space. But I would also like to see that you fix some real problems like this Xid and broken fb console.

Ever since I installed these drivers, I now see the same XID errors. Quake 3 , UT2004 all lockup within ten seconds - five minutes. Xwindows %99 percent usage. I have to ssh into the system to kill the proccess. Everything was working great with the 7676 drivers. I even patched the 8174 drivers suspecting it would solve the issue, but apparently not.

I reinstalled the 7676 drivers and still the problems remain. So, I have an unstable system now, I can have an unstable system with MicroShaft Windows, this is unacceptable in the UNIX world.

What is Nvidia doing if anything to rectify the problem?

The snd-hda-intel ALSA driver in 1.0.10 works with the onboard audio on the Gigabyte board. The vanilla 2.6.14 version of the driver isn't new enough, but 2.6.15 will be. Not sure what's in FC4.
