Hi, my 8800 gtx is performing very bad at 2d applications.
Examples: Scrolling in Firefox is very slow. Using Inkscape or Gimp results in 100% cpu when just moving around simple graphics. Using 2d app x and doing simple task y -> 100% cpu The 3d acceleration is working fine though. I have tried every available driver that works with 8800 gtx (including the new beta), Xorg 7.1 and 7.2 , kernels 2.6.(16 & 17 & 19 & 20 & 21) System: Gentoo amd64 (have tried with Ubuntu amd64, same problem) Evga 680i Core 2 Duo e6600 Gainward 8800 gtx Attaching nvidia-bug-report.log. Look at the "cat /proc/mtrr" - it doesn't look very good Another thing that doesn't work properly is cpu interrupts, ("cat /proc/interrupts"). I doubt it has anything to do with the gfx-card. But if anyone know the solution I would be glad to hear it. If anyone have the solution to this I will be forever thankful! |

I'm not happy with the 2D performance of mine either on Ubuntu feisty. My 7800GTX was much faster. My work computer is running Ubuntu Dapper with a 7900GS and it's faster

Same problem but with a ti4200.
No resolution in site, have tried many drivers. Resizing windows = video lag Minimizing / maximizing windows = video lag This is a NVIDIA problem. |
