Default Help getting 1920x1080p from my 5200

Hello -

I've got a new 37" LCD that will take 1920x1080@60Hz. I'm trying to drive it with my new FX5200 based EVGA AGP card using the latest Nvidia drivers. I can't seem to get a working modeline. Has anyone had any luck with this?

My modeline section:
# 1920x1080 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 67.08 kHz; pclk: 172.80 MHz
Modeline "1920x1080_60.00" 172.80 1920 2040 2248 2576 1080 1081 1084 1118 -HSync +Vsync

But when I try to start X my Xserver log reports:

(II) NVIDIA(0): Not using mode "1920x1080_60.00" (bad mode clock/interlace/doublescan)

Anyone done this before? I'm currently running 1024x768 (which looks amazingly good for a non-native resolution), but I would really like to use my new tv/monitor as its meant to be used!

Thanks for any suggests - J

Hmm i could be mistaken but i think 1080p is too much for a 5200!

How can I verify that? I bought the card based on this spec sheet:

Hmmmm... you may be at least half right. I got 1920x1080p working over VGA, but it won't work over DVI. I noticed in another summary for this card (but not in the spec sheet):

2048 x 1536 x 32bit x 60 Hz Max Analog
1600 x 1200 Max Digital

So I may be SOL on the DVI on this card. Guess I'll return it.

Try this modeline:

# 1920x1080 @ 60.00 Hz Reduced Blank (CVT)
# field rate 59.93 Hz; hsync: 66.59 kHz; pclk: 138.50 MHz
Modeline "1920x1080_60.00_rb" 138.50 1920 1968 2000 2080 1080 1083 1088 1111 +HSync -Vsync

I generated it using the modeline tool provided in this thread. The key is "reduced blanking":
