AGPGART is the Linux kernel's AGP GART driver, NvAGP is the one built into the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver.

Not normally, no. Some chipsets supported by both drivers sometimes work better with one or the other, though. Please also see http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...ppendix-f.html.

Great news, I don't have the problem with Nvidia's AGP driver :-)

Using "nvAgp" "1" doesn't work by default because the system launch agpgart and nvidia_agp at startup :
kernel: NVRM: not using NVAGP, an AGPGART backend is loaded!

I didn't found a clean way to unload nvidia_agp at startup so I renamed the driver filename. Then I added "nvidia" in /etc/modules.

Now I can see in lsmod :
nvidia 4087216 12
agpgart 35656 1 nvidia

And in /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status :
Status: Enabled
Driver: NVIDIA
AGP Rate: 4x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Disabled

I no more have the problem on logout, so the bug should be in nvidia_agp driver.
Is there any patch to correct nvidia_agp ?

Best regards,
Matthieu
