Default Fatal exception: kernel panic

I have an ASUS P5ND2-SLI-Deluxe motherboard with 2 ASUS nVidia GTX 7800s in SLI configuration.

When booting to Red Hat Enterprise WS 4 Update 2, with 8174 installed at init 3, startx hangs the machine with flashing CAPS LOCK and SCROLL LOCK.

Checking the /var/log/messages file (attached as messages2), there are lots of calls starting with nv which implies it's something wrong with the nVidia driver.

This is a new system and the previous driver didn't work either. I hoped it was an SLI issue so waited for SLI support, but still no joy.

The log is attached. Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

This is a known bug in the RHEL4 U2 x86/SMP kernel, please install 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL.
