Default Forcing 60hz with twinview.

I got two monitors, one LCD (that really prefers 60hz, even when it can do 75hz) and one CRT, which REALLY needs 85hz, how can I, using twinview, force 60hz on the LCD?

You need to create custom modelines. 'gtf' can be used for this.

Thanks,
Lonni

already did that and couldn't get it working with twinview. LCD monitor still reports it's running at 75hz

Your xorg.conf has the 1280x1024@60 modeline, yet you never use it in the Screen section(s).

on this topic i've experienced a problem involving GeForce Go 6800 (not limited to the use of latest drivers) not using Xinerama or TwinView with a laptop and external LCD display... the laptop display has a max vrefresh of 60Hz while the external has a max vrefresh of 75Hz... both are set to their respective vrefreshs and i don't observe any complaints about doing so. the external monitor apparently syncs to 60Hz Vblank even though X.org says the vrefresh was set to 75Hz...

This seems to be a problem:
(II) NVIDIA(1): Not using mode "1280x1024" (vrefresh out of range)

If you remove this option from your X configuration, does that have any impact?
Option "VertRefresh" "DFP-1: 75"

Or if you uncomment and use the "1280x1024_v" mode in your X configuration, does that have any impact?

Or if you broaden the VertRefresh range that you specified for 'Monitor1' does that have any impact?

Also, please generate and post a full bug report.

Thanks,
Lonni

none of those alternatives you provided in use simultaneously or one change by itself made any impact...

Telomerase

Telomerase is an enzyme that adds telomere repeat sequences to the 3' end of DNA strands. By lengthening this strand DNA polymerase is able to complete the synthesis of the "incomplete ends" of the opposite strand.
Telomerase:

* is a ribonucleoprotein;
* Its single RNA molecule provides an AAUCCC (in mammals) template to guide the insertion of TTAGGG.
* Its protein component called TERT ("TElomere Reverse Transcriptase") provides the catalytic action.
* Thus telomerase is a reverse transcriptase; synthesizing DNA from an RNA template.

The new bug report doesn't seem to be using any of the changes I recommended. Am I missing something?

Is there a reason why you're using the "ConnectedMonitor" option?

In your bug report, you're not calling the "1280x1024_v" mode. Also, I don't see that you've broadened the vrefresh range specified for Monitor1

Also, please start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 5

and then generate a new bug report that captures all the changes I suggested.

Thanks,
Lonni

Sorry about that, there should have been a dash in front of logverbose, like this:
startx -- -logverbose 5

Can you please try that again?

Although in the bug report you posted, "1280x1024_v" is in use. How or where are you determining that your DFP isn't running at 75Hz?

Also, why are you using the ConnectedMonitor option? Does this problem exist without it?

Thanks,
Lonni
