Hi
does somebody run that card and could maybe comment on fan speed/noise? I'm planning to buy a PC equipped with that card, but a line in a review on Toms Hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/...dia/page8.html made think: "Once the graphics driver has loaded, the fan slows down considerably." So according to them, fan speed might be software controlled, and I'm anxious it might run at full speed all the time on Linux ... Thx a lot, Bruno. |

Depending on the sensor used the card the fan might be temperature controlled and in case of all 7800 cards it is adjustable in software. For instance try nvclock (CVS version required) to do this on 7800 cards. (more support for 7800 cards will follow soon)

Thanks a bunch to you both for your much welcome answers. Reassuring to know that this small still important issue works resp. can be controlled on Linux either.
