I had an XFX 6800 Ultra about a year and a half ago, it wasn't so hot, I could hit around 455mhz and 1250mhz before it hardlocked. Don't expect too too much from it for OC'ing. What brand do you have?

actually received it as a gift, I believe it's a reference card..

(work gave it to me)

if I try and auto set the clocks it only gives me 423/1.14

if I try and manually set it. it will fail at 450 or 1150

Try using rivatuner manually, Coolbits is really misleading, noticed it especially with the 6800 cards. What are you using to test for artifacts?

The highest my old XFX 6800 ultra would do was 445/1.23. Anything over that and it would artifact.

They are actually 400/1100 but a lot of manufacturers released them at 425/1.2.

IndianScout: I wouldn't complain about your core clock . It's pretty good. The memory is a bit low but sometimes that is the way it is.

i know i don't have a 6800 ultra, but my GT is very similar, i obtained 420/1150 for my everyday clock speeds, but that's with a new heatsink....... from what i've seen the ultras should hit around 450mhz core then they take a poop, and same with the memory around 1200mhz if you're very lucky

My evga 6800Ultra agp came stock at 425mhz and I think 1.1ghz on the memory (have to double check the memory). Never felt any need to overclock. Thanks for the info though!
