Default suspend2 and nvidia drivers

Hello,

first i would like to thank all the nVIDIA TEAM who works hard to provide us good linux drivers and answers very quickly in this forum.

I've got a bi-proc Pentium IV-HT machine (Sony VAIO desktop) with a GeFORCE 5700 Nvidia video card with 128 MB Memory.

I run a Linux Ubuntu 5.1 with a kernel 2.6.15 and patched for suspend2-2.2
All compiled well, following howtos on suspend2.net and i can hibernate in text mode and also hbernate in X with generic nv driver...

...but with the nvidia drivers (latest 8178) i get a blank screen when resuming.

I disabled the agpgart stuff in the kernel and i don't know what i should do to get the hibernate/suspend2 work with the good nvidia drivers !

in xorg.conf :
Section "Module"
Load "i2c"
Load "bitmap"
Load "ddc"
Load "extmod"
Load "freetype"
Load "glx"
Load "int10"
Load "type1"
Load "vbe"
EndSection

i also can send the nvidia-bur-report.log file if somebody can help me

I read somewhere that i should edit a nv.c file but i do not find it, i've always installed the nvidia drivers via the installer not sources

Thanks a lot in advance and merry christmas !

Default Re: suspend2 and nvidia drivers

i know that problem

in the earlier versions i editet the nv.c with "case PM_SUSPEND_STANDBY" line to work with suspend2 which is descriped in the suspend2 wiki.

Is it not possible to make a nv driver which is ready for suspending?

I hope and wait for some infos about making the new driver work with suspend2

thanks for that great job to nv
