Hello, I have a new Asus K8N-E Deluxe NVIDIA nForce3 motherboard and the onboard network doesn't seems to work. I tried both with forcedeth and nvnet drivers, none of them complains when I do a modprobe, device eth0 shows up but when I try to bring the interface up I only get: "no link during initialization". I can setup a static IP address, but again, no networking. Leds on the port remains off, but I know from past experience that for some models they do not come up until the module is fully/correctly loaded.
At this point I would like to test somehow if the network port is working? I recall that in the old days of separate network cards, they use to come with a floppy that often contains a "diag" program that I used to test for ethernet connectivity. Is there something like this for NFORCE3? Thanks ![]() |
