I've installed NVIDIA drivers many times before but this one has me lost. Issue is the driver is installed but unable to enable 3D acceleration. "sax2 0=nvidia" appears to run as normal but after reboot there's no NVIDIA logo prior to seeing the log-in screen and direct rendering is not enabled when running "glxinfo". I do see "NVIDIA X Server Settings" listed in "Applications/System/More Programs/" though the left field in the box is blank under "NVIDIA-Settings Configuration". Has anyone experienced this with driver 8178?
Test system: CPU: Intel P4 3.2 GHz Hyperthread enabled RAM: 2.5 GB PC3200 OS: SUSE Linux 10 Desktop: Gnome 2.12.2 Graphics: Geforce 6600 GT |

In your xorg.conf your driver is "nv":
Code:
Section "Device" BoardName "GeForce 6600/GeForce 6600 GT" BusID "1:0:0" Driver "nv" Identifier "Device[0]" Option "XaaNoOffScreenPixmaps" "on" Option "XaaNoPixmapCache" "on" VendorName "NVidia" EndSection |
