I use a notebook with GeforceFX 5200 Go and Suse 10.0.
(Notebook is a Toshiba Satellite M30 with Pentium M) With the Nvidia driver at first everything works fine. 3D is accelerated and no problems. But if I don't do anything for about 10 Minutes then the screen goes black and I don't know how to turn it on again. It seems as if a screensaver is activated after 10 Minutes, but if this is the case it doesn't deactivate as it should. (e.g. when I move the mouse or press a key). Some keys still work: e.g. Sometimes I can still do a Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to kill the X-server. Otherwise Ctrl-Alt-Del shuts down my system. So I think that it's not a complete lockup but only a black screen. This does not happen with the nv-driver. Does anyone here know a remedy? (I didn't find threads with matching symptoms.) Joachim |
