Hello,
I'm unable to install latest nVIDIA driver on my OpenSuSE 10.1 box. I've got NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8178-pkg1.run patched with NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-8178-U122205.diff.txt. nvidia-installer.log is attached. Installer says 'Installation fails'... |

I've successfully installed the latest driver on SUSE 10.0 but with a kernel compiled by hand from the 10.1 source RPM... The differences from your setup are that I've used the kernel sources for 2.6.15-rc6-2 but yours use 2.6.15-rc6-git2.. Also mine is for x86_64 and not for i386.
You can try installing the kernel and kernel sources for the version without -git and see it it works.. |

Unfortunately plain 2.6.15-rc6-2 doesn't boot on my laptop, and I don't see any cense downgrading to 2.6.14... Anyway, thanks for reply!

Judging from the log file, the crash occurs while KBUILD has control, which suggests a toolchain problem. This doesn't appear to be an `nvidia-installer` bug.
