Default HP L2335 & NVS280 problems

I've configured as many options as I deem necessary. I've gone through SUN support, and nothing seems to work. I'm using an Ultra 20, with a NVS280 and an HP L2335 monitor. I keep getting a message saying that the display resolution is 1280x1024. I also get a message that 1920x1200 is larger than the bios set 1280x1024. Is there a way to bypass this? Is there a way to increase this? I've also run diagnostics on the machine with the supplemental CD. It shows the max resolution for the machine being 1280x1024 and that some resolutions reported as OK not being available. Need help.
Thanks,
Tom
