Default Question about upgrading my NVIDIA driver

Hi

I am about to buy a NVIDIA GFORCE 6600 GT (Since NVIDIA provide good support for us Linux guys). Anyway, currently I have the 7XXX driver installed and have downloaded the latest Linux driver from the NVIDIA site waiting to be installed.

Can i simply run the script as root and install the new driver on top of the old one or do I need to run the install script with some flags set like ie
-update ?

Thanks
Shelton.

Refer to the directions of installing the nvidia driver on the linux distribution you use - visit distribution home page. Or do a web search.

Just install it over the old one - the new install will detect the existing driver and uninstall it as part of the process.
