Default glxgears: 60fps with Xorg>=7.1 / 2800fps with Xorg7.0

i recently update my notebook from dapper to feisty causing my nvidia performance slow down from 2800fps to 60fps (using glxgears as testing software).
i'm using driver 1.0-9755 installed from .run

-- info --
lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce Go 7400 (rev a1)
uname: Linux quad 2.6.20.1-ubuntu1 #7 SMP PREEMPT (manually compiled)
ii libgl1-mesa-glx 6.5.2-3ubuntu1
ii libglitz-glx1 0.5.6-1
--

all configurations seems to be right.
i didn't make any changes in upgrading from dapper to feisty (xorg.conf, driver options, kernel-related options)... i perform only a software upgrade.

i think mesa>=6.5.2 + Xorg>=7.1(starting with aiglx support) + nvidia>=1.0-8756 making some troubles
thanks for any suggest.

Run glxinfo - you want to see direct rendering enabled. The X log might have clues too. If unsure attach a nvidia bug report.

Sounds like vsync is enabled in the Xorg 7.2 but not in the 7.1.

i've updated a couple of packages and reinstalled 1.0-9755 driver.

glxinfo now works, output attached.

Try disabling VBLANK. This is the result of BLANK enabled and disabled :
lith@eygor:~$ __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=1 glxgears
303 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.429 FPS

lith@eygor:~$ __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0 glxgears
42073 frames in 5.0 seconds = 8414.587 FPS

thanks for suggest... exporting __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK="0" i got 145fps, not bad.
starting from your reply i set __GL_FSAA_MODE to 0 insted of 7 (7 is the dafault) and glxgears runs with 2800fps like on dapper.

my problem now is solved... but i think these options should be reset to 0 by default.
thanks

Those variables are set to 0 by default. Something in your environment changed them.
