The visuals were damned impressive, though, and the computer we got to see it on was far from today's cutting edge. With a Pentium 4 3.4GHz CPU and a Geforce 6800 video card, this game looked wonderful and still moved along at a pretty good speed at high resolution - and the guys at Splash Damage still have plenty of optimizations to do.

Does the terrain and trees in BF2 looks less than this?

Trailers looked better ,but closeup screenshots doesnt look as nicer i thought. My vote goes for a new engine. Will not mind to trade performance for more IQ

Ugh, that tree looks pretty bad, everything else looks good though. Mainly the texture resolution on the tree.

Look at the Terrain.. more closely..the soil ,it looks like Q3team arena graphics. , im also a bit uninspired by the lighting ,at his hands and neck ,perhaps is the jpg compression? or maybe im asking too much. The game looks to be awesome ,but the those shots doesnt look that impressive.

Do you think it will make use of Open GL? ...I am bitterly hoping so, I can't help but shake the feeling that an Open GL game will run better on my SLI rig.
