Please ask them at e3 if you do about map size poly counts on models max player counts and if there is a hard coded limit to static mesh's models you can have in a map. Thhanks =)

Holy mother of all eye candy Junkies!

http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1...eomatic2xc.jpg

That hires version screenshot Burpy posted is superb. Each character gets shadows casted on him from other character models and self-shadows itself plus casting the usual shadow on the surface he is standing on and all of those done right without any randomly misplaced shadows as a result of a poor shadow engine. Models are receiving perpixel lighting plus I can see some bloom action going on add some insanely detailed textures, worthy indeed.

How much of a scripted animation do you make out in that shot?I truely hope that there is non.

I can say the guy looking thru binoculars and crouching guys firing their weapons both seem non-scripted while at the same time they might have been tweaked alittle to have more fineness than what you normaly are going to see in real game.I have my doubts about the guy having his back up against the wall to be non scripted.

However, I think adding alittle scripted animation for the purpose of creating nice pics isnt all that bad but I want advanced and richer animations, adding more reality specifically to MP games as you can see other hunman player models going through various animation sequences wich may vary from looking funny to an insult to user's intelligence.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
[rant]I'm awaiting the day when models actually take steps while climbing ladders/going up or down stairs aka raise their foot and put the damn thing on a higher level then support the "virtual body" weight on that foot then raise the other leg plus the whole body to that same level instead of proceeding with a twitch like upwards movement.CS ladder climbing animation anyone? [/rant]

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather OT:

As far as I remember CoR and FEAR had improvements with ladder climbing animation specialy FEAR NPCs have the best err.. animation bank (I just made that word up) while looking life like and not puppet like at all. This was also visible in developer's previous games NOLF1/2.No other game (that I have seen) comes close to their games in that department imho.

I think this only proves two facts, first is just how much they really care about their game and want it to look real and second one is how much having the help of a leading film industry company like WB helps with recording several professional motion captures to be used in your game thus expanding the number of animation sequences a given NPC or a player controlled character in a MP game may execute in different scenarios although the whole thing may not be affordable/accessible or seem financially justified to every single developer team out there .(that is if they cared enough to even consider using high quality animations in the first place.) But then again average user's taste is the determining factor that sets standards for what quick game programming guides advise you to do-->"donot bother with AI that much... bottom line is you need to give them good cannon fodders." let alone character animations....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember reading an article a while back about how advanced physics system is going to help with eliminating oddities with certain types of character movements in games.

Any news from this game?
System req?
Their web site doesn't contain many info on this game.
Also, is there going to be only 1 flying vehicle for each side?

[ Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Info @ IGN ]

Quote:
This E3 will afford us the opportunity to see Quake Wars again for ourselves.
In fact, we have found out from Activision that the game will be playable in a big way at this year's show.

This is no half-assed attempt to show off the multiplayer here.
The Activision booth will house a 24 player LAN that anybody at the show can walk up and test out assuming
they can break through the ridiculous crowds that will undoubtedly gather around the area.
Four New ScreenShots.
