I hope the Westinghouse displays make it over this way soon. They seem to be pretty good value. Now I'm SLIed I'm think of getting a moderate res widescreen. A 20" Samsung perhaps?

Just waiting for a paycheck, to buy a 24" LCD.
Has anyone bought, or knows someone that bought a LCD monitor from this Website ? http://www.apparelandtech.com/
They have two iPod, two Canon photocams, 6 Dell LCDs, one Samsung LCD, five Dell Notebooks, one Dell Projector. And that's it.
Their product list seems a litlle bit... small. Though, they had 52 positives reviews @ PriceGrabber, out of 52.
Has anyone here bought, or knows someone that bought a LCD monitor from that website?

I don't know anything about the site but sure you're better off buying directly from Dell.
Plus the site has the 2407WFP listed for sale at $757.00 and Dell is today selling the same monitor for $703.20

apparelandtech.com does ship to where I live, for 140$.
Does us.dell.com ships internationally to any country ? And for how much, to where I live ?

Probably not but you should try email Dell US.
I used the pull down menu "Choose A Country/Region: Mozambique" on http://www.dell.com/ and it took me to Dell EURO. The euro Dell usually has not so good prices.

Do you know there are 3 revision on this model A00, A01 and A02, all had some issue.
The latest revision A02 has most but not all problems fixed, many people find that acceptable because of the price and all depends on the monitor intended use.
Many people hope there is going to be A03 revision but it might not happen.

You should make sure that apparelandtech.com is selling the A02 revision, they don't specify that in the product description.

Here a long tread with lots of info about 2407 and the revisions

Thanks. Indeed, I'm only getting the Rev.A02.
I've emailed apparelandtech.com, and they say their 2407 stock is fully Rev.A02.

Funny thing happened with my BenQ FP202W...

I noticed that the color gradients where looking odly "blocky", and I thought "hmm.. must be an LCD thing" (I just changed from a pretty good CRT).

After staring at my monitor for a couple of minutes I realized that something must be wrong. There is no way picture quality is that horrible on an LCD...

So I jump resolutions between 1280*1024 and 1680*1050 and POOF, the problem goes away... gradients are back to normal.
?

...

Yes, I HAD to share that with all of you.
Buggy drivers? (I have 91.33)

Ok, I'm contemplating getting a widescreen LCD. This will be for gaming.

With gaming in mind I'm looking for low response times. I'm a little leary about the 30" screens. Even though the system in my sig will soon be replaced by an E6700, 2 gigs of G.Skill 6400CL3 and two G80's when ever the hell they come out, the thought of running games at 2560 x 1600 scares the crap outta me. I'm convinced I'm going to get 25 fps. Especially using the two 7800GTX's I have until the G80 debut.

So, I'm thinking maybe 24". I've been reading up on the Dell 2407 and the Samsung 244T. I like the contrast ratio (1000:1) and response times (6ms g to g) of both. The price is fairly the same, although the 2407 is currently on sale for $703.20.

Anyone have any advice/feedback for me? Does one of these monitors have an edge over the other? Or should I be contemplating a different monitor altogether?
