Westinghouse 37" models come to mind. Awesome gaming experience and it doesn't require dual G80s.

Know anyone that has gotten the 47"? According to the Westinghouse site, buy.com and crutchfield are selling it but they've been out of stock for a while now. I haven't been able to find it locally either.

A friend of mine picked up the 47" Westy and it's nice. The thing is that as the panel size grows so does the pixel size. This in turn makes images on the bigger LCD screens seem grainy up close. For everyday PC use I recommend the 37" Westy. For mostly multimedia type use (movies, gaming etc) where you sit at least 6 to 8 feet away from the screen the 42 and 47" models will do nicely.

I agree with that assessment. 37" is about the largest you're going to want for a PC display - at least for 1080p anyway. 42-47" would be alright if you sit back a little bit further AND if you had a higher resolution along with. The 42W2 was right on the borderline, IMO, for having pixel sizes approaching to large. But for watching movies back on the couch it was effin awesome! 37 is great for that to, just not *quite* as great.

Yeah, I was mainly looking to use it as a HDTV and as a display for the consoles. So, I'll be sitting on the couch when using it. Right now, the 37" one looks really nice and big when I'm sitting a foot from it using it as a display for one of the computers but once I'm back on the couch watching movies/using the x360, I end up wishing it was a little bigger.

Does he have any complaints about it? Things like the buzzing noise that some of the older 37" displays have, etc. Those type things.

There is probably a thread for it over on avsforum. I suggest checking it out.

I currently own the 42" Westy and even at 5 to 6 feet away I can still easily read size 8 fonts. Movies and gaming (PC or Xbox360) is truely incredible. The thing is that now that I have adjusted to the size of this screen I find myself wanting something bigger!! I guess it's true what they say... bigger is better when it comes to HDTVs.

My Dell 24" LCD 2407WFP 1920x1200 has arrived. It's an A03 revision.
I bought it from www.apparelandtech.com (see reviews). Highly recommended.
For international buyers, this merchant is pretty helpfull, as it can accept payment by Wire Bank Transfers, Western Union or Money Gram, and they can ship 24" LCDs using USPS, wich is less then half the price of the Fedex international shipping.
It's also amazing how fast and promptly they respond to customers e-mail inquiries.
PAYMENTS:
$40 for the Wire Bank Transfer tax
$700 for the 2407 at www.apparelandtech.com
$127 for USPS international shipping
$220 for import fees here in Mozambique (26% of $700+$127, wich is basically what we pay for importing computer hardware)
TOTAL= $1100
If I lived in the USA, for just a few more 300$, I could buy 2x 24"LCDs for a dual monitor setup.
The monitor shipped in only 6 days, as seen here. Nothing broken nor damaged, and so far only one dead pixel at around the 1200x700 position (from top left corner).
Yes, it's bad, but not so bad, considering it traveled aproximatedly 10.000 miles from USA to Mozambique, where I live.
Before, was using a Samsung 19" CRT 997DF 1920x1440@60Hz.
This is simultaneously my very first LCD, first widescreen monitor, and first "bigger than 19"" monitor. I'm in "AWE".
I'll post some pics of it soon.
