Congrats on the new monitor.

I'm going to have to upgrade my video card before I get one that big though...

Some pictures of my Dell 24" LCD 2407WFP A03 1920x1200. On the left is my Samsung 19" CRT 997DF 1920x1440
The Dell 2407WFP was running a Sony HDTV Demo Video, 1920x1080 29.97fps MPEG2.
Sorry, my photography skills suck. Camera is a Sony Cybershot P150 7MPixels

I tried to take some pictures of some HD movies, like Spider-Man 1080i 1920x1080 23.98fps, or The Matrix Reloaded 1080p 1920x1080 23.98fps, but the pictures came out somewhat washed. Gotta tune the room light here.

Awesome pics man! Enjoy the LCD. So tell us... did you notice any banding on the A03? How about the component connection. Did you try to see if it functions as advertised or is the output image on the component still over saturated and dark?

BTW where did you download the Sony HDTV demo videos?

I haven't tried the component connection yet. Don't have any Hi-Def Player with component output here. Just a regular DVD player, gonna try it later.
Anything not-white moving (in any direction) over a white background, leaves a short green trail behind it.
About the Sony HDTV Demo Video, pvt me.

I've never used Rev.A00, A01 or A02, so I can't really compare them to this Rev.A03 I'm using.
RadXGe @ Dell Forum posted a picture using a green-to-black gradient test.
Indeed, in this test, in the green-to-black gradient test, the banding was in fact not visible for me.
But, in the blue-to-black and red-to-black gradient tests, the banding showed up a little bit, vertically and horizontally.
I'm using the DVI connection.

I picked up the Viewsonic 22" monitor at Costco today.

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...84*1680*54061*

It is not as good as my Dell 24" and 30" monitors but it is a very good widescreen monitor for $349.99.

So yeah...my Dell 2407WFP died on me today I went downstairs for some lunch, and when I came back upstairs, it was dead. Not sure what happened...It won't display anything, not even the OSD. So I called up Dell Tech support and a new one will be here on Friday. That's the one thing I like about Dell. They waste no time shipping out replacements. Hopefully it will be a A03 revision. Word is they're a little better with the banding than the A02s so I guess we'll see.

Right now I'm using my old samsung 17" LCD that was laying around the house. It's soooo small. I feel...deprived. My roommate laughed at my small screen too Lol.

Yeah, tell me about it. Fortunately for me, DELL Canada tech support rocks. I called them on wednesday at about 1 PM and my new monitor was here at 9AM on thursday!! And it is a A03 although I'm not seeing much of a difference with it vs the A02. I'll have to do some tests...Oh and no dead pixels!!

I got the A03 too, zero dead pixels and no backlight bleeding. Problem is 1:1 scaling with 1600x1200 still not unabled.

Nice! I'm not sure if I want to go that big. I picked up a Samsung 940BW 19" WS the other day and have been debating getting the 22" instead. My biggest concern is that you can't see all the screen at once. For instance, if you were playing in front of a 30" screen, you probably couldn't take in all of the image at once, you would need to move your head around. I want to avoid that if possible.

So what I'm getting at is do you find it to be a little too big for some games, like FPS? (I sit close to the monitor also, so that doesn't help when you start getting really big screens.)
