For instance, if you were playing in front of a 30" screen, you probably couldn't take in all of the image at once, you would need to move your head around. I want to avoid that if possible.
So what I'm getting at is do you find it to be a little too big for some games, like FPS? (I sit close to the monitor also, so that doesn't help when you start getting really big screens.)
Having to move your head around, in front of a big monitor, could actually make the whole gaming experience more real.
In real life, can you see and focus on everything that is in front of you, 150, without moving your head around, just using your eyes?
No.
So why you want to avoid moving your head around in front of a big monitor, if that is exactly what you do in real life?

Well, the only problem is that you can also get shot at without even knowing it in real life. If I'm already doing 180s all over the place, trying to frantically move my head is going to make me dizzy!

Unless you're sitting really close you won't have any problems with seeing the whole screen at once. I have a 20" that I sit about 2-3' away from and I'm not even close to having a problem. I think you generally have to start getting into the 30"+ range before it becomes an issue. Also, keep in mind that we naturally prefer to view things on the horizontal, which is why widescreen is used for movies and becoming popular for everything else. You'll have less trouble seeing everything with a 22" widescreen than you would with a 22" 4:3 display.

I might just have to try out the 22". I want the res so that stuff looks even better and I can fit more on a screen. My other thing is that I like using a dual monitor setup, so I can do a few things at once. I could see being able to get 2 things side by side on a 22" screen, but on a dual monitor setup you can just maximize a window and it uses up one screen. Does anyone know of a program that would allow you to tile different programs?

EDIT: oh yea, I do sit quite close otherwise I can't read the text. *busts out tape measure* about 20" or so from the screen. But if I do get a 22" then I can sit back farther and still feel ingulfed in what I'm doing. Heh, I think I'm going for it then. Glad you guys talked me into it.

Sorry I took so long to reply, but I don't believe the screen being too big will be an issue. In my case, I had been using a 21-inch CRT for a few years. But when I replaced the CRT with Dell's 24-inch LCD, I made a slight adjustment by positioning the monitor a couple of inches further away. It's basically a natural reaction and you'll end up making a similar adjustment.

Quit smoking around your monitor! It looks yellow from nicotine.

I think I'm gonna get one and test it out at least cause if that 225bw is as good as it sounds, it should be everything I want for the next few years. (I was using my 17" mag 786pf for 3 1/2 years and it still a great monitor.)

i just got a Belinea 102035W and im so happy with it

i originally purchased a hyundai N91w monitor but it had 1 dead pixel in the middle and a very small wrong colour changing pixel in the lower right. i managed to return it to the shop even though they only accepted returns of monitors of 4 dead pixels or more at(CCL computers) because i spent more with them on the Belinea.
