Well I got the monitor this morning... Went by DHL and picked it up.
So far so good. This is the first display I've ever seen that has no dead pixels that I can see. That includes CRTs. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that none come up and will watch for them over the next couple days. Haven't had time to reconfigure and play any of my games. I did watch an episode of Enterprise on it and it definitely looks a bit nicer than it did on my 2001FP. Also, no screen door effect on this one which I'm happy about. Later today after I get a few other tasks around the house done I'll try doing some counterstrike and ut2004 gaming and maybe post back here tonight with a couple pictures of the screen. I did check for backlight leakage, and there is a tad, but it's not bad at all. Certainly no worse than the picture that was posted further back up in this thread. Put the 2001FP on my wife's 3200+. Should make her pretty happy. ![]() |

Done.
![]() And yep, it says January on it. *EDIT* I'll take some pictures and post them on Thurs/Fri. I didn't have time last night, but I did some testing with it and I do like it so far. CS:S and UT2004 are nice in wide screen. ![]() Also, wide screen movies are a bit more viewable on this screen than the 2001FP. 4:3, like TV shows, are better on the 2001FP though. My Jan 05 Rev RMA just arrived today. Its perfect at the moment with fairly even backlighting. The real test will be what it looks like a week from now.

Spoke too soon
![]() One dead pixel developed at the very bottom edge in the middle but thats not a problem and very acceptable. The show stopper for each one I've received has been the back lighting. All 3 have been perfect when I first turned them on but the back light bleeding has gotten exceedingly worse within the first hr of use. This peticular one is the worse outta the bunch. Watching DVD's in the dark is completely unacceptable because the lower left and upper right hand corners are white. I'll post some pics here in a few mins to give you a better idea. ![]()

I ended up sending mine back; another 2001FP it is. Can't go wrong with those
But good luck to all with these, I hope the newer models are working good for you.

O btw, I took some pics earlier but they were very inaccurate in showing the slight blk/wht contrast on the monitors so it wouldn't of done any good to post 'em, plus they kept coming out blurry. Rip, after a few days of use, has yours gotten any better or worse? Just curious.
