Why is a Geforce 8800 an 8800 instead of an 8888? These are questions our mortal minds are not meant to understand.

Honestly though, it's just a junk number so that it's higher than the other models (ex. the 2001fp) Kind of like how the second X-Box is a 360 so that it has a three in it to not sound inferior to the PS3.

It's a series number is what I understand it as. It's a 24" monitor, but if you look at the 2405, it has the older style bezel on it, and the 2407 is the newer bezel. The revsion numbers usually fix problems with the product, and the series are new models, but it's still a 24" monitor.

2405:

2407:

I just got an A05 as a warranty replacement. Color banding -GONE Insane brightness - GONE, plus I was getting a weird pop every now and then. This A05 is truly a thing of beauty.

Edit: DOH! just saw the '2407' still groggy from turkey day

The Westinghouse monitors, the 32" and 37" versions, what kind of connections are available on them? The ad I saw at best buy said only VGA, not DVI which is what one would expect on these monitors. If it is VGA is there a drop in sharpness, geometry issues, etc? How noticeable is the pixel size and how is the color reproduction? Could I use it, let's say for photoshop etc?

I am seriously thinking of getting one this coming christmas. I am thinking of selling my 2005fpw, giving away my current tv since I almost never use it anyway, and making it a replacement for both.

One thing I would consider if you want a good black level, Westinghouse donít have
Good black levels tends to leave image looking washout.

There are at least 3 versions of 32" Westy and I believe at least one has DVI connection, all models are TV not a monitor.
The 37" Westy (LTM-37w3) sure has DVI connection plus HDMI, there is also w1 model with DVI (no HDMI) and w2 model which is TV.

You CAN'T compare the two display, the 32" models has 1366x766 pixels maximum resolution.
The 37" is true HD monitor 1080p (1920x1080 resolution), over 2 milions pixels, about double number compared to the 32" model.

If you're going to use the monitor also for PC you definitely should buy the 37" Westy (LTM-37w3)
BestBuy price is $1499, usually sells for less, other etailers sell for less but make sure to buy from reputable authorized dealer.

At this price you DEFINITELY can't buy better 37" 1080p monitor, many poster at AVSForum will agree with that.
It's the best place to learn more about Westy LTM-37w3, the tread is now about 4400 post long, you need to read only last few pages or ask question and I'm sure most will disagree with "jticeman500" statement about washout image.
