Hello. I am considering a Dell 3007 for my rig (dual Opteron, single 8800GTX). Do I really need SLI (an additional 8800) to really enjoy FPS gaming with this monitor?

If yes, maybe I should go for the 24 inch?

Thanks!

Why are all of you so obsessed with the Dell brand?
I'd go for the HP 30", the LP3065. It has an IPS panel instead of a PVA, and has a 92% color gamut of NTSC. I've seen it upclose and it's amazing.

It has 6ms gray-to-gray. 12 ms full on-off. What do you think the Dell has? The same. Plus, IPS 6ms>>>>6ms PVA. See the reviews of NEC 20WMGX2 to get a better idea.

In that case, I regret that you don't live in Greece, so that I can sell you my old 22" inch NEC FP1375X CRT. .Oh, and my LCD monitor is just fine for HL2 deathmatch.

I'm part of the club now, this sweet baby is arriving tomorrow morning!

I'm a gigantic fan of Samsung LCDs, so I've been waiting for one like this before making the leap to widescreen. I can't wait till it gets here!

I gotta say, I absolutely adore Samsung. I've got two of the 204b 20.1" UXGA monitors and love them immensely.

The only problem is the second one I got a few weeks ago is apparently one of the bad batch released from April 2006-November 2006. They flicker occasionally when using DVI. It's not a deal breaker, it's just slightly annoying. I could exchange it at Best Buy, but I'd like get stuck with another from the same batch, so why bother?

I guess people have contact Samsung about it and they've been sent earlier versions (pre-April 2006) of the monitors as replacements while Samsung tries to figure this out.
