Yeah, me too. I've seen the HP30" upclose, and it has a very small dotpitch, like 0.25. I was dizzy after a while. The NEC has a 0.29 dot pitch, much less stain for the eyes.

There's plenty of time for women after I've spoiled myself for the next 5 years or so.

Oh. My bad.

You're right. I specifically ordered the 30" because I felt it was too large and I wanted to hate the thing I used to play games and browse the 'net everyday. I wanted to make sure I wasted the most money possible with my monitor upgrade.

Actually, the move from 24 inch to 30 inch seemed like less of a step than 20 to 24. Initially, once you get the monitor, it seems huge but after a while, it becomes the norm. Now when I go back and use the 24 inch, it seems confining. And, games at 2560x1600 are so clean looking.

Actually the Nec uses the new 26" LG-Philips IPS panel and the specs for both the 26" and the 30" panel are here.

Necs 26 incher monitor price is mentioned at their German site

As for the HP L3065 I'd love to hear a few more words about it since you've seen it up close.

Well I am disappointed that my 2407 doesn't display 1080p in its proper aspect ratio for my Xbox 360 so I placed an order through Newegg for a Westinghouse 37" LVM-37W3 1080p tv for my living room. I live in an apartment so that will be perfect for my HD-DVD addon and 360 in general. For PC usage I love my Dell monitor since I have the option to adjust the aspect ratio using either the monitor or the video card driver.

With the purchase of that and my pricey Overdrive PC I am officially done with my electronic upgrades for another year at least.

1920x1080 is a 16:9 ratio.
1920x1200 is a 16:10 ratio.

Yes I am aware of this but the problem with the 2407 is that when you select 1920x1080 in the 360's dashboard the section on the monitor's OSD where it allows to to change the monitor to use aspect ration or 1:1 mode is greyed out so you are forced to use it at 1920x1200 and the characters in games being stretched bothers me. I am currently running my monitor at 1280x720 and having the monitor use aspect ratio mode.
