WOOHOO!!

Got my Samsung back from RMA - ZERO dead pixels, ZERO stuck pixels! This is the most beautiful display I've ever seen, totally blows away that Gateway piece of junk. Man the wait was worth it!

Seems like Dell's new 27" widescreen LCD is available on the site ()! The price is way to high at the moment though...

Opps... click on that big grin smiley for a direct link to the Dell page!!!

What does it mean if your DVI Input says DVI/HDMI?

probably just means that it accepts a digital signal. so DVI-D or HDMI converted to DVI-D.

(someone plz correct me if im wrong...)

You're correct Vin... The DVI port will except a digital signal from an HDMI cable with the proper pin converter. As per widescreen LCDs I was wondering what you guys think of the new Dell 2707WFP. It looks good but the decision to only offer it in Silver and the initial price tag ($1399) is kind of dissapointing.

I recently decided to give LCD another try , I have a NEC 20WMGX2 sitting next to my FW900 CRT, The LCD has a vibrant / colorful and crisp picture and overall im impressed with how it looks, but my main gripe is when playing games or watching movies at night the black levels still leave MUCH desired compared to the CRT plus the CRT has a certain 'richness' to the colors that the LCD lacks , I believe this has to do with the CRT's wider color gamut.

I still have 8 days to decide if I want to keep the LCD, if I do keep it ill have to exchange it being it has some backlight bleed at the extreme left and a dead pixel, is it difficult getting an LCD without either of these issues?

The 20WMGX2 sitting next to my bohemeth 24" CRT:

My camera's settings caused the LCD to look way overbright, its not like that in person!

the LCD looks a little washed out, probably just the flash/camera.

looks good though. im tellin you man, once you get into LCD's, the pros far outweigh the cons. and whats even better is that they continue to get faster and have better contrast. theyre so thin, theyre just great

EDIT: just read your last line about the camera

oh, and dont forget Sneak King
btw, get the burger king games, theyre fun as hell and cheap too. the bumpin game is like fuzion frenzy (for xbox, fun game for a bunch of ppl) and the bike game is like mario kart, hehe

the games look very good. there is only one problem about runnin them at that high of a resolution - you can see the places where it needs a little more AA!
this monitor is absolutely amazing, one of the best decisions ive ever made.
also, i get weird horizontal lines at 1920x1200 with the 360 VGA cable (my PC image is beautiful) i moved the res down one notch and it looks crisper and cleaner and richer color. you can check it out when you come home.

Well after trying out three different 22" and the Gateway 24" I finally found the monitor of choice, Dell 2407. Wish that 27" was priced at $999 I would have got that but as it stands, being more then the 30" and double of that of the 24", I'll have to hold off. lol
