I am really happy with the thing. I expected a lot but didn't expect it to be that good tbh.
Gaming at 1920x1200 is awesoem too especially since my beloved EvE Online supports the resolution.

Ok thanks.

Yea, I wasn't sure if I was being anal or not but like I said a few posts up I do have a bit of a backlight bleed flare in the top right hand side. Also a single stuck pixel.

But aside from that, as long as my exchange is pretty flawless like how I hear they are, all should be good.

Hello,

Why is it that 27" Dell is more expensive than the 30"? Which one would you get? Based on the comments on this forum, I just got mine today , but was just curious...

Thanks!

What did you get today? The 30" Dell? BTW the new 27" Dell is more expensive because... well... its NEW! New products (even though they might be inferior) usually cost more since the materials to manufacture it are not as widely available. Another thing is that the 27" offers alot more connectivity options then the 30" (30" only offers DVI-D while the 27" offers component, composite, VGA and DVI-D). The 27" also has a built in USB Hub and an 8 in 1 card reader.

Well rumor has it that Dell has a new 30" coming out in the next few months so they are pricing it aggresively against the 27". Which makes it look like a great deal, which it is. So most likely the 27" is a little to high in price and the 30" is selling lower in price to push them out the door.

I did get the Dell E228WFP 22' LCD yesterday to replace my 2005FPW. I'm very happy with it, no pix issues, min. bleed, VERY bright with excellent color(*when adjusted) and its big(imo..a perfect size) . At first it gave me some trouble, I was finding it over bright w/ inky darks. Then I got smart(happens from time to time) I defaulted the monitor and drivers....and instead of touching the bright\contrast\vibrance levels I first dropped the gamma until I had correct colors, form there it was a min. tuning bright\contrast and I had it spot on. I went on to play way too many hours of WoW:BC. This baby is a keeper

The main difference the Dell 27" is more expensive,is the picture quality, and the 27" has better picture quality then the current Dell 30".
It has a better set of electronics,as well,as a slightly better panel. Not to mention its new,and will drop in price over the short term.

The 30" is a great buy right now. Nothing wrong with it. The 27" is just new and over priced. Also like the other guy said it has some newer technology in it. The new 30" will most likely be based off the 27" technology and probably be like oer $1600. Unless you're in to some highend graphics or photoshop I wouldn't sweat it one bit.

this thread makes me laugh at my small 19 inch monitor although it's fine for my use. just amazed at how many people are getting the large sizes nowadays.
